In IL Pick 3, you can play for a variety of prizes. The amount you can win depends on which play type you select, and your wager amount. If you play a Straight and wager $5, you can win $2,500 if you match all three numbers in exact order. The table below shows all the prize amounts you can win, along with the odds. The prizes increase proportionally as you wager more, up to the maximum wager of $5, so you would win $800 if you won with a 3-Way Box play at $5 ($160 for a $1 wager, multiplied by 5).
All prize amounts are fixed, so you are guaranteed to receive the advertised payout if you win. It may therefore be necessary for the Illinois Lottery to sometimes limit wagers on particular number combinations to ensure there are not too many winners (as they would not be able to pay out everyone). The Lottery makes a decision on whether to halt sales for certain numbers on a case-by-case basis.
You can claim prizes of up to $600 from lottery retailers in Illinois. If they do not have sufficient funds on-site, you can also visit a claim center, submit an e-claim or mail in your winning ticket to the Illinois Lottery Claims Department, P.O. Box 19080, Springfield, IL 62794-9912. For larger prizes, you won’t be able to claim them at your local retailer but the other methods are all available.
